Game Spotlight: Need For Speed Most Wanted

I know many of you have been thinking about the Need For Speed game that released two days ago. I’ve been thinking about it nonstop since I watched the trailer over a month ago and I was pretty excited then. Currently my game time has hit around an hour and half. MUST…. PLAY…. MORE…. The game is a huge hit right from the beginning. The graphics are by far the best of any racer. I’d go so far as to say that they rival those of games like N.O.V.A. 3, Shadowgun Deadzone, and even HORN. The best thing about Need For Speed Most Wanted, is that it made all my feelings come rushing back. It made me remember why I used to love racing games. If you are looking for a quality racing game, NAY, a quality game period, then you need to speed over to the play store and buy Most Wanted. It is well the worth the $7 it will hit you in your pocket-book for. And hey, if you’re on a service that supports carrier billing, you don’t even have to pay for it right then and there.

Need For Speed Most Wanted, throws you right into the excitement by putting you into a high-octane race from the get go. This is typical of Need For Speed games. Both the Undercover series and carbon did the same thing. I like this though, because there’s no messing about. Just raw electrifying game-play from the start. The game has plenty to offer for someone who wants a pick up and play kind of mentality to the mobile gaming they might engage in, which is great for those of you who don’t have all the time in the world to sit down and dedicate to your sessions. It also has the ability to keep you glued to your device for hours, so if you want to grind down on races and boost the cash flow, the game certainly doesn’t get boring. I will say that doing the same races over and over till you can purchase your next vehicle for whatever upcoming race class you are trying to enter can get a little monotonous, for me this is not a problem though because racing games to me are some of the most fun. I see each race as a challenge to better my time, and the cash is just a bonus at the point.

Need For Speed Most Wanted has plenty of unlockable content. Cars, mods, paint jobs and the like. You start off with little cash so don’t go thinking you’re gonna have a sweet ride immediately. Build up enough money though, and you can upgrade. If you’re one who doesn’t like to put in all the work and want to take a bit of a short cut, EA has added in micro transactions in the “store” menu for you to purchase in game items and cash and such. Use this if you need to. But it takes out all the fun! Modifications in the game so far for me haven’t gone past different color paint, and giving your cars specs a lift in performance. Not sure if body kits or aesthetic changes will come into play at all later in the game, but I could only hope that they have incorporated this feature as that was a big part of the fun of customization.

The game is fast paced, with plenty of racing action. Yet, diverse enough to keep things fresh by switching out the race types, and very well I might add. Normal races where you must finish first, races where you need to finish in certain time, and races where you just have to escape the cops are all present here. As you win more, you’ll meet up with other racers on the “most wanted list”. They will each challenge you and beating them will reward you with their spot on the list, and a larger amount of cash. Cash is great. Cars are even better. Expect a heavy amount of cars to unlock throughout the game. Remember ive only had a little over an hour of game time and ive already unlocked the ability to purchase like 10 cars including, the Subaru sti, BOSS mustang, camero, a couple alfa romeos, etc.

If you’re into the whole social gaming aspect as well, EA has added the capability to link into Origin and see how others stack up on the Most Wanted list. You can even see how other racers are doing across other platforms like Xbox 360 and PS3. I particularly love this feature because I can compete with other players.

Overall, I would say that Need For Speed Most Wanted definitely exceeded my expectations as a game worth $6.99. I have not been able to put it down. (except for when it was mandatory lol) I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the series, and or is looking for a really high energy game that will keep you entertained for quite some time. Race. Win. Become the Most Wanted!
