For those of you that didn’t get in on the original launch of the Nexus 4 and had to endure the server errors and the constant wondering if your order went through, now is the time for you to be happy! Well, sort of, we’ve waited patiently – as Google asked – and now the Nexus 4 is almost, finally back in stock in the Play Store. When the order page goes live come 12 PM PST (3PM EST, 2PM CST) It’s probably best to get them quickly as this might well be your last chance to get one before Christmas – judging by how poorly sales were handled the first time around. It’s a shame that the launch wasn’t a success the first time round and hopefully this time Google have prepared a little better. E-mails have been sent out telling customers that the phone is to be in stock later today.
If you’re wondering what we thought of the Nexus 4 then go ahead and give our review a read, it’ll answer a lot of questions I’m sure you’re all dying to know.
As always the Nexus 4 starts at $299 for the 8GB model and then goes up to $349 for the 16GB model. Even with other phones – such as the Droid DNA – going on sale, the Nexus 4 is still one of the best value phones out there. It might have a few niggles with the lack of LTE but for a lot of Europe – and some of the US – LTE isn’t something to take into account. As we discovered in our review, T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network – where available, of course – is wicked fast and works just fine with the Nexus 4.
It’s taken Google some time to bring the Nexus 4 back into stock and it wouldn’t surprise us if there’s another round of errors and snafus to contend with, so we warn you to be quick and double check those account numbers and if it doesn’t give you a confirmation order right away, try not to buy more than one as you’ll likely be charged twice and you could end up have two Nexus 4s lying around – then again you’d profit by throwing them on eBay.
Go ahead and start your engines! Let us know how you get on in the comments and when you’re hoping to receive yours, a lot of folks were looking forward to getting one of these for the 25th so, let us know if you got your Christmas wish.
