Samsung’s Galaxy Note II is not only a massive phone but also something that has been successful for Samsung and yet another phone that the manufacturer has managed to launch on a number of different carriers throughout the US. At this point, Samsung has proven that larger screened phones are not only here to stay but can be a viable alternative to those that are a little smaller. The Phablets have become a staple on the Android scene and the phone’s are also pretty powerful, making that extra bulk that little bit more bearable.
Another boon for those that own the Galaxy Note II is that the device did in fact launch with Jelly Bean, albeit the 4.1.1 variety but, it was a launch that brought the most recent version of Android at the time. With other manufacturers struggling to update phones on the market to Jelly Bean, Samsung, again, showed that they were more than capable of delivering up-to-date software on their phones. The Korean company has done a good job of delivering updates to the Galaxy S III, the S II and the Original Galaxy Note. Now it looks like its the Note II’s turn to get some more tasty firmware treats.
The latest phablet from Samsung is well on its way to getting the update to 4.1.2, with a new leaked frimware being reported by Sammobile, that updates the phone to the 4.1.2 version of Jelly Bean. The firmware build is N7100XXDLJ2 and comes with a modem and CSC code of N7100XXDLJ2 and, N7100OXADLJ2 respectively. There’s no telling just what’s in the firmware yet, as there are little details on this but, when there’s more info available we’ll update this post with what to expect and how to get it onto your device.
4.1.2 doesn’t sound like much of an update and we suppose that it isn’t but, when you look at it, it’s good to just see that Samsung are continuing with the progress they made earlier in the year with updates of the Galaxy S II and the S III. We hope that this means there’s an update headed for the States soon and that the phablet will only get better with another update.
