When Motorola announced the new DROID RAZR’s back in September, and it was coming with Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich and that it was “Android 4.1 upgrade-able that we wouldn’t see it for quite a while. But actually about 2 months later, Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean is rolling out to the mid-range Verizon device. That’s fast for Motorola and even faster for Verizon. It took Verizon longer to push out Android 4.1 on the Galaxy Nexus, and that was a freaking Nexus device.
The DROID RAZR M update brings all kind of Jelly Bean goodies including:
- Google Now
- Project Butter
- Expandable notifications
- And more!
The DROID RAZR M is now the second Verizon device to get Android 4.1, and the first non-Nexus on big red. Looks like the DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR MAXX HD are next on the list. Now if this is a new Motorola I can get behind. How about you?
If you’re a DROID RAZR M owner, go ahead and check for updates (Settings > About Phone > Check for Updates) and pull down the update. It is rolling out in waves so it may be a day or longer before you can get some Jelly Bean. Enjoy!
