Today we’ve got two of Samsung’s 2012 flagship devices competing in Phone Wars. It’s the Samsung Galaxy S3 in one corner and the Galaxy Note 2 in the other. In many instances this devices are almost exactly alike, besides the screen size and software version. But today we are going to put down the spec’s side-by-side to see which device is the true flagship Samsung device. This is going to be one helluva fight, so stay tuned!

Samsung Galaxy S3
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is a beast, there’s no doubt about that. In 2010, Samsung started the Galaxy S line with the Captivate, Epic 4G, Fascinate and the Vibrant on the respective US carriers, now fast forward to 2012. Look at all the changes in Android and the Galaxy S line as well. Coming from 4″ devices in the original Galaxy S, to 4.8 in the Galaxy S3 that was launched this past summer. Now in 2012 Touchwiz and Android are all grown up and ready for world domination. The Galaxy S3 must be doing something right to sell 30 million in the first 157 days it’s been on sale, right?

- Even though Samsung is rapidly pushing out Android 4.1.1 to its users, it’ll be another version behind come next week.
- US variant is only dual-core with 2GB of RAM while the International is quad-core with 1GB of RAM

Samsung Galaxy Note 2
If you thought the Galaxy S3 was a beast, let’s introduce you to the Galaxy Note 2! It’s basically the Galaxy S3’s big brother. In many instances, the Note 2 has the same internal hardware as the Galaxy S3. Design wise it’s the same, except for the larger display of course. So if you’re one that watches a lot of YouTube or Netflix on your phone, this is your device!

- Powerful Quad-core Exynos processor with 2GB of RAM on both US and International variants
Con’s
- The 5.5″ display might be too much for all users to handle
- Much like the Galaxy S3, it’s running Touchwiz with the Nature UX; Which works well for battery life, doesn’t do much favors for the Android purists out there

This is a tough one guys. The Galaxy Note 2 would have the edge, but since they are so close together spec-wise, we’re calling it a draw. We’ve said this many times before, but the Note 2 and Galaxy S3 both appeal to different but similar markets. Some people are always going to want a bigger screen, for those we recommend the Note 2. But for those that are fine with a device having a 4.5-4.8″ screen the Galaxy S3 will work fine for you. What’ll make the decision even harder is that both devices are available on all major US carriers including Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, and US Cellular. But in the end it’s your decision, we are just here to bring you the facts.
