Pimp My Droid Weekly 11/17/12: CM10 Patcher, webOS, Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and More

Here we are approaching the end of another busy week in the world of Android. And as always there is a ton of news, especially in the world of Rooting and ROM-ing. So let’s get this week’s Pimp My Droid Weekly under way. There was some good stuff this week.

CM10 Patcher for the LG Optimus 2X

A CM10 patcher for the LG Optimus 2X was released this week and it fixes number ous issues and bugs. Here are the features:

This is a CM10 Official nightly patcher for SU660

this patcher automatically fix for SU660 stuff
– fix updater-script for CWM5 of SU660
– fix partition number from 9 to 10 in the vold.fstab
– fix HOME key in the Generic.kl gpio-keys.kl

and you can select kernel for SU660
– normal kernel (152MB carveout)
– 112MB carveout kernel

Custom ROMs on Android are the best, aren’t they? We now longer have to wait for manufacturers to update our devices. We can simply flash a ROM and get even more features and more updated versions of Android. Including the long-press back to kill feature found in both AOKP and CM10.

Nexus 4 and 10 get ClockworkMod Recovery

For those that were able to actually order their Nexus 4 or Nexus 10 and want to root and start flashing custom ROMs, we have official ClockworkMod Recovery already!

Meizu MX2 to go on sale for $417

We all know about MIUI right? That custom ROM that looks a lot like iOS? Well they have their own Android phone which launch on November 27th and come stock with MIUI installed. It’s set to launch at $417 for the 16GB version. Not quite a competitor to the Nexus 4 yet.
