It’s not all roses though, because you can expect to pay a little more for the unlocked goodness that is the Google Nexus smartphone.
As of the writing of this article, Amazon says that it has 9 more Nexus 4 8GB devices in stock, and 14 left of the 16GB variety. That number is undoubtedly moving down as I write this sentence, so by the time you read it and hop on over to Amazon you can expect the number to be significantly lower. Stop reading, go buy it, then come back for the rest of the story. Unless of course you’re concerned about the price, then you might want to stick around a little longer.

The Nexus sale went horribly on Google Play during launch, which many have found fairly unforgivable considering how prepared it would seem Google should be for a device launch of this magnitude. The level of ineptitude in planning for the launch of the newest Nexus devices left many consumers with a bad taste in their mouth regarding the lack of a pre-sale option and the constant server trouble. It hasn’t however dimmed the demand for the devices, and any retailer that can get them in stock is guaranteed sales almost instantly.
In case you forgot, the 8GB version will run $299 on Google Play, when it’s in stock that is, and the 16GB version normally runs $349, all unlocked of course. So for a bit of a premium you can possibly pick up your new device today from Amazon, but is that price jump worth it for the regular consumer?
