Angry Birds Rio Gets Updated with 24 New Levels

We all love Angry Birds – admit it, you can’t stop playing – and every now and then Rovio decide to throw some more levels at us in an effort to keep us playing. Whether or not you’re a big Angry Birds fan or not might not mean you don’t like to play the game, after all, it’s a lot of fun to just pick up and play a few levels whenever you’re feeling bored. With so many games under their belt, the Angry Birds franchise is certainly a force to be reckoned with and there’s no doubting its popularity.

Last year Rovio released the first original Angry Birds title since the original – Angry Birds Rio – and it was all released to tie in with the film of the same name. For the most part it was a lot of the same but, it was nice to play through the game in some new environments, in sunny Brazil no less. It was a nice change from the usual Angry Birds and if you had already completed the first game then it was a welcome addition to the franchise.

As with a lot of Angry Birds games, Rovio has seen fit to update the title with some added levels, 24 in total. Just like other games, you’ll have to “earn” the new levels in order to play through them, you’ll have to earn stars from playing other levels in order to get to the goodies. It’s a novel approach and something that Rovio have done in the past.

There’s no denying that the franchise has become one of the best known games on the Android platform – better yet, on any platform almost – and the birds have reached new heights coming to the PC, Chrome, the Xbox and more. Let’s not forget the brilliant merchandising options out there as well, there’s coffee and even soda. With the franchise becoming so popular it’s a wonder how they’ve kept it up for so long and it begs the question – will 2013 be another year for the Angry Birds?

With it being the Holidays and all, playing games is going to get a lot more common once you get that time off work and once you’ve had too much to eat and drink, flinging birds across a display might be the best you can do. Angry Birds Seasons is already geared up for the Christmas season and if you’ve already got Angry Birds Rio installed, just head over to the Play Store app to check for the update.
