It seems like every phone rumored these days are either 5 inches or 1080p and sometimes it’s both. It looks like ZTE will be among those manufacturers that are bringing 5-inch devices to the table now and in 2013. Those manufacturers include HTC, Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Oppo, Huawei, and even Lenovo. ZTE has been teasing this device over on Sina Weibo. But today, Engadget got a tip that this Grand S will be making its debut at CES next month in Las Vegas. And the picture you see above, is the ZTE Grand S. It looks pretty nice right? For the most part it looks like it’s stock with maybe a different launcher. We aren’t sure if those are softkeys or not. But judging by the size of the top bezel, I’d guess they are capacitive buttons.
ZTE’s main selling points for the Grand S is “the world’s thinnest for 5-inch FHD (full high definition) smartphones.” So far there isn’t much information on spec’s but you can expect either a very powerful dual-core or quad-core processor in this beast along with my guess of 2GB of RAM. Hopefully we won’t see the same old specs of “quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro with 2GB of RAM” we see that a lot with these 5″ 1080p devices being leaked out.
The pictures below are from ZTE’s Sina Weibo account, and they look pretty awesome. The back of the device appears to be curved, which will probably make it easier to hold up to your ear when talking on the phone. So until CES in early-January. This is about all we’ve got the ZTE Grand S. It does look like a pretty good Android smartphone coming out of China. ZTE has really been looking to make a name for themselves here in the US. Let’s see if CES can be where they start to take flight.
