GO Dev Team releases next launcher, a $16 3D Powerhouse

The GO Dev team, developers of many popular apps like Go Launcher and Go SMS Pro, is ending 2012 with a bang. The team just released their newest app called Next Launcher. It costs $15.99, which is pretty steep, but judging from the video below it is well worth it. Other high-powered launchers have succeeded at this price, and Next Launcher should be no exception.

The 3-D launcher will run on any device running Android 2.3.3 and above, but it is recommended that you at least have a dual-core processor. The GO Dev team also suggests that you watch the video before using it so you can get a grasp of all the features.

Some of the top features are:

  • Unlimited screen layout
  • Stereoscopic screen preview
  • Rotatable dock
  • Powerful app drawer
  • Beautiful scrolling effects
  • 3D widgets

There are no standard grids, so there is endless possibilities for your home screens. Most launcher’s screen layouts are in grids that only allow you to place icons and widgets in certain spots on your screen. The app drawer allows you to arrange icons by name or time and create folders by overlaying icons, much like you can on the home screen in Android 4.0 and above. The launcher comes with some fancy scrolling effects, and everyone loves showing off fancy scrolling effects.

Currently there are only a select few wallpapers that work with the launcher, but the GO team says more are on the way. On the Play Store page they mention that there currently isn’t any themes available, but they are also on the way in the near future.

Here’s the Next Launcher feature video:

This is the kind of customization that makes Android so great, so if this launcher is in your price range you should definitely check it out because it’s pretty amazing. Do you think $16 is an acceptable price for Next Launcher?
