We’ve heard so many complaints about the Nexus 4, from it being available for only minutes to order on Google Play, to the speaker buzz problem, to the touch sensitivity not measuring up to other phones, along with a few other problems that aren’t as widespread. Then there’s the software problems, like short battery life, and long charging times. Nexus 4 users have experienced some delays in getting their Nexus 4 to recognize motions, gestures, and even taps. I have also noticed this on my Nexus 4, but it doesn’t happen all that often. But there is a software fix that can fix this, thanks to those awesome developers in the Android community. What would we do without them?
Now to use this mod you need a rooted Nexus 4 with your bootloader unlocked and BusyBox installed. So you’ll want to do that before you continue reading. Once you’re rooted and have your custom recovery installed, whether you’re preference is ClockworkMod or TWRP (TeamWin Recovery Project) recovery or some other custom recovery. Then you’ll just need to go ahead and flash the files through recovery. It’s just that simple. But you can get the download files and the complete instructions from the XDA link in the sources.
Basically the mod redirects the Android OS to use a different touchscreen driver while booting up. Users have reported that they can see a noticeable increase in the touch sensitivity on their device. The only downside is that sometimes touches are registered for longer than they should be. So you may see some lag in SwiftKey if your using that as your keyboard.
If you’re brave enough to try out this mod, hit the source link below and give it a try. We’d also love for you to share your experience with this modification in the comments below. I, myself, won’t be using it because I use SwiftKey and don’t want even more lag with that app, since the sensitivity doesn’t bother me all that much…yet.
