It appears Samsung is rolling out quite a bit of Jelly Bean updates tomorrow. Here in the US, the Jelly Bean update for the Verizon Galaxy S3 is expected to hit. In fact Verizon officially announced it today. And on the Canadian side WIND, Mobilicity and Videotron are rolling out Android 4.1.1 tomorrow as well. Of course the roll out will be staggered. So not everyone will get the update tomorrow. Some will need to wait until next to get their update. This is an attempt to keep their servers from crashing with everyone pinging them to download the update.
GALAXY S III owners! @mobilicity, @videotron & @windmobile will start receiving Jelly Bean on Fri. with a staggered rollout into next week!

So it looks like Friday, December 14th is the day for the rest of Canada’s Galaxy S3. With Jelly Bean update includes some great new features from Google. Including Google Now, expandable notifications, Project Butter, Sound Search and more. Along side Android 4.1, you’ll also be getting some small updates to the Touchwiz skin on your Galaxy S3. Mostly bug fixes for Touchwiz. While it’s still going to be a .1 version behind the Nexus lineup, it’s still a step in the right direction. And it only took 5 months from when Android 4.1 hit AOSP in July to get it. Hopefully you’ll see Android 4.2 hitting your device sooner.
Starting tomorrow you can go into Settings, hit About Phone and Check for Updates. I’m not sure how it works on Wind, Mobilicity and Videotron, but AT&T only let’s you ping their update servers once a day. So you might want to be careful in trying to grab the update.
When you get the update, let us know in the comments below how big the update was and how you’re liking Jelly Bean on your shiny Samsung Galaxy S3.
