Well now it’s time for some more leaks. As you know CES and Mobile World Congress are right around the corner, in January and February respectively. Now we’ve already seen quite a bit of leaks from Samsung, HTC and Sony lately, all of which are pointing to 1080p displays. And HTC already has one of those on the market. The HTC J Butterfly in Japan and the Droid DNA on Verizon in the US. It now looks like it’s LG’s turn to leak a 1080p device.
The LG E940 looks like it’s headed to AT&T, and it has some nice specs, at least according to these leaked benchmarks:
- 1080p display (guessing anywhere from 4.7-5 inches)
- 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor; Adreno 320 GPU
- 2GB of RAM
- Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean
That’s all that is known right now. And these specs may even change before the device gets announced. I’d expect to see this one at CES since it’s coming to AT&T. And CES is normally an US show, so we’ll see mostly only devices for US carriers. Maybe a few devices that’ll hit Europe and the rest of the world, but not as many as you’ll see from Mobile World Congress.
You might remember the leaked F240K device for LG not to long ago. The F240K, and the E940 have pretty similar specs. But then most of these leaks do. Seems like everyone is throwing a 1080p display, a Snapdragon S4 Pro, and 2GB of RAM into a phone these days. Not that they are bad specs or anything. But the E940 could be the AT&T (or US version) and the F240K could be the international version. But right now it’s a bit early to really tell.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on this device, as well as any and every device announced and shown off at CES and Mobile World Congress in the coming months. Does the LG E940 appeal to you? It has basically the same specs as the Optimus G and the Nexus 4, except it has a better screen. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
