Guide to Kernel Governors

Many of us flash new kernels all the time. But we never have time to try out each governor to see which is the best for us. Luckily the folks in the XDA forums have put together a nice guide explaining each of the Governors. You can check that out right here.

New Mod for the International Galaxy Note

Thanks to a new mod for the International Galaxy Note GT-N7000, you can now use Multi-window for most apps. That’s great news since on stock multi-window only works for a handful of apps at this point. Hopefully Samsung will update that soon so we don’t have to flash mods to get it to work the way we want it too.

Sprint Galaxy S3 gets a Carrier Unlock

That’s right. You can now carrier unlock your Galaxy S3. Now its not a huge deal since you can only use it on other CDMA carriers that support it, so it’ll get a bit tricky. But it is possible now.

It’s here, well unofficially anyways. But Android 4.2, a.k.a. CyanogenMod 10.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Of course there are some bugs that need to be worked out and this is the first build by XDA Elite Recognized Developer Codeworkx. You can find out more information over on XDA’s forums.

Finally. CyanogenMod 10 is available for the HTC Amaze 4G which is on T-Mobile US. So if you’re an HTC Amaze 4G owner, you’ll want to hit up this link and find your CM10 build to flash on your device and get some Jelly Beans since HTC won’t be doing it anytime soon.

T-Mobile and AT&T Galaxy S3 Get some CM10.1 love

Unofficially, Galaxy S3 T-Mobile and AT&T have some CM 10.1 builds now. That means they get some stock Android 4.2 to play around with. They join the very few number of devices with CM10.1 builds available. Currently only the Nexus 4 and 10 have official CM 10.1 builds available.

Xperia Launcher hits any ICS device

This week, devs were able to port the Xperia Launcher. It now works on any Android device running Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich or later. Check out the thread at XDA for more information.

HTC HD2 gets some Android 4.2

This phone just will not die. This is supposed to be a Windows Mobile phone, but it’s had more luck running Android then Windows Mobile and even Windows Phone 8. It actually got a port of Android 4.2 this week so anyone with the HD2 check it out.
