Here we go with the rumor mill for Mobile World Congress. We knew these rumors would be surfacing soon. Especially since we’re only two months away right now. So we aren’t going to see the Samsung Galaxy S4 at CES or Mobile World Congress in January and February respectively. But we will probably see some low-end devices come from Samsung. One of those devices is the Samsung Galaxy Young Duos (GT-S6312). Now obviously from the name, the device will support dual SIMs. So more than likely it won’t be available in the US, since most of us only use one SIM.
Now According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Young Duos should be announced and unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It’ll initially be available in two colors, White and Blue. So far there aren’t any images showing off the device, but I’d expect something similar to the Galaxy S3 and Note 2. As Samsung has been trying to stick to that style lately. We also have no word on specs. But looking at the Galaxy Y Duos specs we should expect something along these lines:
- 3.14-inch QVGA display
- 832MHz processor
- 3.2MP camera
So of course not high-end. In fact it might be a little low to be a low-end device. Hopefully it will come running at least Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean. But with it being a low-end device I wouldn’t expect Android 4.2 on the device.
Today, Samsung announced the Galaxy Grand i9080 and the Galaxy Grand Duos i9082. These will start launching in the first quarter of next year and feature Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean, dual-core processors and a 5-inch WVGA display. So again, a fairly low-end device which will probably be very popular in Asia.
Samsung has been announcing quite a few dual-SIM devices as of late. Maybe soon we might see a nice dual-SIM Galaxy Note 2. Not sure how well that would sell due to price, but it would be pretty nice to have that option. Any of our readers looking for a dual-SIM device from Samsung? Let us know in the comments below.
