Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Wi-Fi Only Model, Getting some Jelly Beans

Those of you that picked up the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, you’ll be happy to know that the Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean update is on its way. But it is starting out in Germany. The Galaxy Note 10.1 model that we are referring to is GT-N8010. The update is coming in the form of Over-The-Air, and weighs in at about 300MB. Currently its rolling out to Germany, but as with the past updates from Samsung, we expect to see other regions and territories get the update in the coming days and weeks. At least if you have the Wi-Fi model.

This Android 4.1.1 – Jelly Bean update brings all the standard new Android 4.1 features like Google Now, Expandable notifications and Project Butter. But on the Samsung side, it’s bringing the new “Premium Suite” enhancements we’ve been seeing Samsung tease for a good little bit. This Premium Suite comes with the re-vamped Multi-Window feature with support for windowed apps, along with “easy clip” for capturing areas of the screen and the redesigned S Note app.

While it’s great to see Android 4.1 making it’s way onto the Galaxy Note 10.1, it’s still kinda far behind. Lately we’ve talked about Android 4.2 so much that its almost weird to be talking about a device getting Android 4.1. Hopefully Samsung is working on getting Android 4.2 on the Note 10.1 and their other flagship devices like the Galaxy S3, and Galaxy Note 2. That will definitely make millions of users happy, especially since they’ve sold so many of those devices. So 4.1 is here, now where’s Android 4.2 Samsung?

You can try and grab the update by going to Settings, tapping on About Tablet, and Check for Updates. If you’re able to pull it down, great. If not you may be in for a bit longer wait. But hopefully it’ll only be a few hours before you can download your update. If you got the update, let us know how your liking Jelly Bean on your Galaxy Note 10.1 in the comments below.
