Verizon and Samsung are teaming up to offer a LTE capable variant of the Galaxy Camera. This news shouldn’t come as a shock, especially considering we’ve covered it here before, on more than one occasion.
The Galaxy Camera will be available online via the Verizon Wireless website starting Thursday (Dec 13, 2012), and for a whopping $549.99. That’s a pretty hefty price to pay for a camera, even if it does include Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and full access to the Google Play store.
There’s absolutely no mention as to whether or not the camera will be offered in stores, so for now plan on ordering one from the website.
In case you haven’t heard about it before, the Galaxy Camera is a standard 16.3 megapixel point-and-shoot with a 4.7″ HD display. The added bonus here is that it works just like a smartphone and comes with Android 4.1 out of the box, right along with full internet capabilities. This will allow you to directly upload your pictures to various social networks or cloud storage accounts through a wireless cellular or Wi-Fi connection.
Verizon even decided to be nice and keep the service cost for these babies relatively minimal, after you pay off that initial price tag, of course. With a Verizon Share Everything plan, you’ll be able to add-on the Samsung Galaxy Camera for just $5 per month. That’s not too bad, depending on your personal definition of “nickel and diming”.
Regardless, it’s time to look under those couch cushions and check your pockets for spare change if you want one, unless you’re frugal with your money then you probably have some stored away.

The Galaxy Camera features a 4.8-inch HD Super Clear LCD touch screen and runs Android Jelly Bean, so users have full access to Android apps from the Google Play store like Instagram.
This is all combined with other high quality features such as a 16-megapixel lens, 21x optical zoom lens and optical image stabilization for clearer pictures even while moving.
The Galaxy Camera will be available for $549.99 and come in two colors, Cobalt Black, exclusive to Verizon Wireless, and White. Users will be able to add the Samsung Galaxy Camera to their Share Everything account for the promotional price of $5 per month.
