While Sony is preparing for the CES in Las Vegas, the rest of us are chomping at the bit for a chance to get a sneak peek at the devices that are expected to debut on the showroom floor. We already know about the Yuga and the Odin, or the Xperia Z and the ZL respectively, but it looks like there may be at least one more device that we know very little about that may just make an appearance at this years show.
The Sony C530X, also known as the HuaShan, has shown up on GlBenchmark and helped confirm some spec information about the device, for which very little was known before this break, and made it look a little more possible that we might see this device debuted at CES this year. So, what did this benchmark reveal?

- On-Screen Virtual Buttons
- Android 4.1.2
The HuaShan was expected to be an mid-range device, and that’s the picture that still seems to be painted by this new information. It’s not as mediocre as expected though, placing it more firmly in the upper-middle range of Sony devices. There’s also a lot of information still missing from this picture, especially screen size and the amount of RAM it’s going to be carrying. Since Sony isn’t pushing this device to the forefront with any other technology we’re not holding our breath on the unknown specs being very impressive. We’re also still missing pictures of the device, and we’ve been burned in the past with benchmark data that turned out to be a completely different device in the long run. So, it’s safe to say that everything is still purely speculative at this point.
There’s speculation that this might actually be the Xperia P 2, or some other form of follow-up for that device line. If that’s the case then the likelihood of it showing up at CES is a bit diminished, but we still might see it in February at MWC. With the Z and ZL already on the docket for CES, Sony probably doesn’t need another device for debut to gain plenty of press attention, but it would be nice to get some more details set in stone.
