Who out there is still rocking a Motorola Atrix 2? Then you’re probably pretty pissed at Motorola for basically giving up on the device and not updating it to Jelly Bean. Last year, Motorola put out a list of devices that would get Jelly Bean. The Atrix 2 was not on that list, but was on the list of devices that are eligible for a $100 credit towards a new Motorola device.
Well thankfully, the guys over at XDA have you covered. There is an official Jelly Bean ROM leaked for the Atrix 2 over on XDA that you could go ahead and flash onto your Atrix 2. Of course, as usual there is a certain amount of risk involved in flashing ROMs. It’s also important that you know we aren’t responsible for any damage caused to your Atrix 2 while flashing this ROM. And once you root your device, your warranty is now void.
If you don’t want to flash this leaked ROM you can always flash some CyanogenMod 10 for the Atrix 2 for those that want a taste of pure Android Jelly Bean. And technically speaking, if you just want Jelly Bean on your Atrix 2, there are a few different ROMs available for your flashing pleasure. But every ROM will require you to be rooted of course, so if you still have a warranty you might want to think about that before jumping in and rooting your device.
Motorola is also supposed to be bringing Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean to the Electrify 2 and Photon Q pretty soon. Most of their other 2012 devices have already gotten the Jelly Bean update. Those devices include the Droid Razr Maxx HD, Droid Razr HD, Droid Razr M, and the Atrix HD. So even if you want to get that $100 credit, you could still upgrade to a newer device with Jelly Bean on board.
So who’s willing to flash this ROM? Well go ahead and hit up the source link below for all the details.
