Droid World in San Francisco on February 7-8th; Free Android Developer Workshops

Here’s a great event for developers. On February 7th and 8th at Moscone Center in San Francisco, Appsworld is holding their Droid World conference, and it’s free to attend. There will be two full days of workshops at this conference, which will help you make your apps better and get the word out about your apps too. We all know building and releasing a new app is hard, especially to get word out about it. This year the event is sponsored by Barnes & Nobile and the event is of huge interest to any building apps for Android. With over 1.3 million new Android activations per day, it’s the best platform to be creating apps for.

Droid World will have the following speakers during the two day event:

  • Carlo Longino, Director of Developer Marketing Services, Wireless Industry Partnership (WIP)
  • Steve Weiss, Senior Android Mobile Applications Developer, Chicago Tribune Media Group
  • Eric Schrag, Senior Android Developer, Comcast
  • Jim Steele, Author of the Android Developers Cookbook
  • Donn Felker, Author of Android Tablet Application Development for Dummies
  • Tom Chavez, NOOK Developer Evangelist, Barnes & Noble

Of course, that’s not all. There’s plenty more attending. You can find out more at the Apps World website. And if you’re a developer interested in more than one area, there are some workshops that Apps World are offering:

  • Mobile Marketing & Advertising
  • Gaming & Web Apps
  • HTML 5
  • Mobile Payments NFC
  • TV & Multiscreen Apps
  • Automotive Apps

The free-to-attend Android developer event at Apps World North America on February 7-8 in San Francisco is all set to feature various leading Android developers, authors, evangelists and operators divulging their expertise on all things Droid.

Sponsored by Barnes & Noble, the Android developer conference runs on both days of Apps World and will be of interest to anyone building apps on the Android OS.

Highlights of the day one track will include expert opinion from James Steele, author of The Android Developer’s Cookbook on how to create the optimal Android experience, and Tom Chavez, NOOK Developer Evangelist for track sponsors Barnes & Noble on how to quickly monetise on the NOOK bookstore.

The second day of the Android developer conference sees discussions on exploring cross platform dev tools, as well as insight from Donn Felker, author of Android Tablet Application Development for Dummies, and representatives from Facebook, Microsoft and VisionMobile.

The OS market has long since been considered a two horse race, but plenty of evidence suggests Android is pulling ahead, with recent research from MBA Online confirming that 1.3m Android devices are activated each day compared to 515,000 iDevices.
