Last month, HTC revealed the Butterfly, which is another variant of the J Butterfly and the Droid DNA (on Verizon). It was later that we found out the HTC Butterfly would not be landing in Europe and it doesn’t have plans to come to the US either. But instead it was supposed to launch in China. And now if you really want the HTC Butterfly you can pre-order it from Negri Electronics.
The HTC Butterfly X920E is listed on Negri Electronics website for pre-order and has the expected availability data as late-January. The HTC Butterfly is available in both white and red and will cost you just over $800 for this high-end device. So just how high-end device? Let’s check out the spec list:
- 5″ 1920×1080 resolution with Super LCD3
- Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core 1.5GHz
- Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean
- 2GB of RAM
- 16GB internal storage; Expandable to 32GB via micro SD card slot
- 2020mAh battery
The HTC Butterfly a.k.a. HTC Deluxe, also works on the following bands:
- 2G: 850/900/1800/1900
- 3G: 850/2100
- 4G LTE: Market dependent
So it looks like HSPA+ is going to be kinda tough, especially here in the US. As there’s only a few bands that the device supports. But that shouldn’t be a big deal to most of you HTC fans, as the HTC M7 should be coming out this quarter as well. Along with plenty of other 1080p smartphones. So if you’re interested in pre-ordering the HTC Butterfly, you can hit the source link below.
The HTC Droid DNA has been a huge seller here for Verizon, and with the HTC Butterfly having close to the same specs, the only real difference is expandable storage and no LTE, it should do well in China and anywhere else HTC decides to sell it. In my opinion, it still makes no sense that HTC has not put this device in more markets and on more carriers. This is the first 1080p device in the US, it should have been everywhere. I wonder when HTC will learn from their mistakes.
So who’s planning on pre-ordering the HTC Butterfly? Let us know in the comments below.
