Leak: 35 Codenames of HTC Devices Revealed in Security Breach, Including the M7

CES is now just days away, so of course we’ll be seeing tons of leaks of devices announced at CES or even at Mobile World Congress in February. This is what hardcore Android fans call Christmas. We’ve already heard plenty of rumors of the HTC M7 which is supposed to be announced at either CES or Mobile World Congress, but now we have something a bit more interesting.

HTC has had a pretty serious internal security breach which brings us 35 codenames of smartphones that could be coming out soon:

  • APOLLO_TD
  • CP3DCG
  • CP3DTG
  • CP3DUG
  • DELUXE_R
  • DELUXE_UL
  • DELUXE_TW
  • DLXP_WL
  • ERA_U
  • EVITA_UTL
  • IMPRESSION_J
  • JET
  • K2_CL
  • K2_WL
  • K2_PLC_CL
  • KNIGHT
  • M7_U
  • M7_WL
  • M7_WLJ
  • M7_WLV
  • M7DCG
  • M7DTG
  • M7DUG
  • M7C_DTU
  • MONACO_TDU
  • MONACO_U
  • MONACO_UL
  • OPERA_UL
  • PDLU
  • PRIMOMINIU
  • PULSE_TD PUE_TD
  • QUATTROF
  • QUATTROU
  • VENUS_CL
  • VERDI_LTE

A lot of good stuff there, and it looks like there are 8 variants of the M7. Yes eight! Didn’t HTC get the memo of having one variant on all the carriers? I guess they didn’t learn from Samsung in 2012. Also interesting in there is the EVITA_UTL, the Evita is the codename for the HTC One XL (the LTE version of the HTC One X), so could this be possibly the HTC One XL+? Who knows. There’s also the Deluxe which is the Butterfly, so perhaps that’ll be making it’s way into other parts of the world. And the K2 which is the One SV.

Then there’s the OPERA_UL which was rumored to be the codename of the Facebook phone that HTC has partnered with Facebook to create. If it ever does come to the market, we sure hope it does better than the last Facebook phone. Anyone remember the HTC ChaCha? There are some other names that look familiar as well. Like the Quattro and Verdi which were originally thought to be tablets, and the Venus was thought to be an entry-level smartphone. Which HTC has been doing a lot of those lately. Also some of these devices might be Windows Phone 8 devices, since HTC does make devices that run Windows 8.

So that’s some pretty interesting stuff there. Which codenames interest you the most? Let us know in the comments below.
