Last night, NVIDIA had their press conference at CES. They announced some pretty amazing things, including the Tegra 4, some cloud gaming, but best of all was Project Shield. For those that don’t know about Shield, we suggest you go check out our write-up from last night, and Tom’s brilliant editorial about why this device has gamers excited. It’s a great device running pure Android, and will run Steam games as well as your favorite Android games. It’s a great device, but what kind of games will we see on the device? We’ve already seen Madfinger’s next iteration of Dead Trigger demoed last night. And now on Shields shiny new website we see a few new titles.
First up we have Blood Sword: Sword of Ruin, now this is the first time we’ve seen this title, but based on the screenshot shown below it appears to be a Devel May Cry-type fantasy hack-and-slash action title. This should be pretty awesome to play on that controller.
Next we have Real Boxing which has already been released on iOS and has some generally positive reviews which is always a good thing. The Graphics on Real Boxing look amazing and even better than on the iPad. Based on how good it looked in the demo at their press conference last night, it looks pretty awesome.
Burn Zombie Burn is another title for Project Shield. This one is already available on PC and consoles and it’s a great looking game as well. Overall every one of these titles looks awesome on Shield. This is almost a carbon-copy of the all very popular Age of Zombies.
Rochard, is yet another game that’s already available on consoles and PC’s via Steam. The game uses a cartoon-ish version of the Gravity Gun from Half Life in 2D platforming and puzzles. And just like these other games, the graphics and visuals are crisp and clear.
There’s also mention of Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II being available for Shield which is another game that’s already released in the Play Store. And it’s a great game. But with some of these titles, you can tell NVIDIA is really making a push for Shield, hopefully they don’t disappoint. Who else is as excited for Project Shield as I am?
