Just last week we talked about the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, specifically featuring a visit it made to the FCC in December. More recently the FCC also approved an LTE touting design, which is obviously Verizon friendly.
From the FCC filings, it was revealed that the upcoming Galaxy Note 10.1 model would include LTE support along with 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth functionality. Of course, the news caused quite a stir via tech blogs, despite the lack of an official confirmation from Verizon or Samsung.
Well, today during Samsung’s event at CES 2013, we got an official confirmation. A 4G LTE Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet is coming to Verizon Wireless in the near future. Samsung took a second to promote the version of Android it will be running, Jelly Bean, and a few productivity apps that will be bundled with it.

Of course, this is a Galaxy Note device so all of the top features that we’ve come to expect in Samsung’s newest devices will also be included. Namely, the multi-window support and all of the standard S-Pen features are guaranteed.
Just for reference, I’m including the specs for the Wi-Fi version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 because the Verizon model will most likely be remarkably similar if not exactly the same.
- 10.1-inch 1280—800 resolution
- 5MP rear-facing camera, 1.9MP front-facing camera
- Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean
- Quad-Core Exynos 4412 clocked at 1.4GHz
- 2GB RAM
- 16/32/64GB internal storage
- 7000mAh battery
Personally, this is music to my ears. I’ve wanted a Galaxy Note II for some time now, but seeing as I already have an Android device under contract, this might be a more feasible option for me. Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, here I come!
Unfortunately, no additional information was given about a price or a release date. We can reasonably assume that Verizon’s version will be about the same price as the retail model. The 16GB Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Wi-Fi is priced at $499. I’d guess that the 4G LTE equipped version will be closer to $599, give or take a few dollars.
