Last week we started hearing rumors about the Xperia Tablet Z, and we even saw a leak that it would be announced around January 20th. Today, Sony finally announced the Xperia Tablet Z and made it official. Here’s the complete spec list for the Xperia Tablet Z:
- 10.1-inch 1920×1080 display Full HD
- 1.5GHz Quad-core Processor;
- Mobile Bravia Engine 2
- 8.1MP camera
- NFC
- Android 4.1
- Weighs 495g
So far that’s all the information Sony Mobile has published regarding the tablet. It is a great looking tablet though. And with Android 4.1, it’s going to be pretty fast on that 1.5GHz quad-core processor. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z is going to be available in both black and white, and is also coming in LTE fashion. Which means it could be coming to a bunch of different US and Canadian carriers in the coming months. Although at this point, the Xperia Tablet Z is only targeted for Japan, but hopefully that’ll change soon. I’d love to have this available in the US, and it’ll be a great upgrade to the Xperia Tablet S that Sony put out last year.
So now you’ve got the Xperia Z and the Xperia Tablet Z, both are great devices with similar specs. It certainly would be awesome if these devices were offered as a pair from carriers or other retailers that would be selling them unlocked at full price. Blog of Mobile is also reporting now that the Xperia Tablet Z is packing a 6,000mAh battery, which is a bit smaller than the battery in the Nexus 10.
This tablet is certainly a looker. Who’s planning on picking this one up when, and if it ever becomes available for the rest of the world. I certainly hope it becomes available in the US and other parts of the world at a reasonable price. If not, it probably won’t do to well. Who’s wants to check out this Xperia Tablet Z from Sony?
