Best Buy Selling a "Platinum" Version of the Motorola Droid Razr M?

Just last week, Verizon and Motorola gave the Droid Razr M a new paint job for Valentines Day. Last week it became available in pink, in addition to the black and white colors already available, and also dropped the price to $49.99 on contract. Today, Best Buy now has the Platinum colored Droid Razr M available for sale.

They are calling it “platinum” but we doubt that it’s actually made out of that super premium metal, but it sure does look like it. The gray tones are accented by the blue volume rocker and blue power button. At first glance it looks a bit odd, but it actually looks nice. The Droid Razr M was announced back in September with the Droid Razr HD, and the Droid Razr Maxx HD, and is only available on Verizon’s network. Here’s a quick look at the specs in case you’ve forgotten:

  • 4.3-inch qHD display
  • Qualcomm dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 8GB internal storage
  • 8MP rear-facing camera; 1.3MP front-facing camera
  • 2000mAh battery

It’s available now at Best Buy, and we’d assume it’s coming to Verizon’s stores and other Verizon authorized retailers real soon. In addition to the other 3 colors that the Droid Razr M is already available in. It’s typical of Motorola to slap a new coat of paint on devices when they start aging. At least they aren’t like HTC and just re-releasing the same device constantly.

For $50 with a new contract, and specs like these, you can’t turn it down. Especially if you’re looking for a smaller device around the 4.3-4.5 inch range, which many people are. It’s a great device that’s running almost stock Android, and has software keys, one of the few devices to have those. If you’re going to pick this one up, let us know in the comments below how you like or dislike this new paint job from Motorola and Verizon.
