It should be no surprise to any of you by now that devices are going to leak out, drip by drip, as the run up to their announcement becomes ever closer. It’s not at all surprising then, that HTC’s latest flagship – whatever it’s going to be called – has leaked out once again over Twitter. We’ve heard a lot about HTC’s upcoming device and while we’ve seen what looks like a press render of the device, we’ve not seen the device like this before.
Coming from the infamous @evleaks Twitter account is another image of what could very well be the “HTC One” or the “M7” or, whatever the hell HTC are going to call this thing. They say that pictures speak a thousand words so take a look at the image below:
So, the HTC One is starting to look like a very different device from last year’s One Series and while this is not guaranteed to be a real image of the upcoming flagship, @evleaks have been pretty good with leaks in the past. What’s perhaps a little bizarre about the above image is that there are only two buttons visible, the back and home buttons. With the HTC logo in the middle. I hope that HTC aren’t stupid enough to turn their own logo into a multi-tasking button, that wouldn’t be a good idea, and it wouldn’t do much at all for their branding.
Whether or not this is the HTC One, it looks like an…interesting design for a smartphone and if the two grills on the front of the device are speakers, HTC might be pushing media consumption as the device’s “killer feature”. With a 4.7-inch display that’s rumored to be packing a 1080p resolution there’d be no problems watching a movie on this smartphone and as they showed with the Droid DNA and it’s innovative amplifier, they’re more than capable of improving sound quality on mobile devices.
With the February 19th event coming up soon, there’s certainly going to be a lot of info to take in and hopefully we will see something brilliant come out of HTC.
