Countdown to February 19th HTC Event; HTC One Confirmed?

By now, you should know that HTC has a big event  planned for next Tuesday, February 19th. We pretty much know it’s the HTC M7. or HTC One. Even with new information coming from @evleaks last week. We’ve also seen HTC’s CEO Peter Chou chanting “HTC One” at their end-of-the-year party at their headquarters. In addition to that we’ve already seen HTC One advertisements during a soccer game.

Some of the specs for the HTC One/M7 are rumored to be:

  • 4.7-inch 1080p display
  • 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 32GB of storage
  • 13MP rear-facing camera; 2MP front-facing camera
  • Android 4.2 – Jelly Bean
  • Coming in black and silver/white

It seems with this new countdown on their website, that HTC is really trying to get your attention and get you excited for the HTC One announcement next week. Their event is in New York City and London, and we’ll be sure to bring you all the information from their event. Now, each time the timer drops to :01 your screen flashes and catch a glimpse of the unannounced device in about a 5-second clip. If you watch long enough, you’ll see the phone’s backside, side-profile, and camera. It still isn’t much to see, in fact it’s so little that it’s even difficult to see if the leaks were right about the device. Personally I hope it isn’t the HTC Droid DNA available on just about every carrier, including Verizon again. Although this is something HTC has done before. Anyone remember the HTC Sensation line up? I’d like to see something better spec’d with more storage, but that’s just me.

So you can go check out the countdown on HTC’s website and see for yourself. But there isn’t much to see and we are less than a week away from their event. So who’s excited? Does anyone think we’ll see something different from what’s been rumored already, or the leaks we’ve seen already? Let us know in the comments below.
