Good news for all you own an international Galaxy Note as Samsung has finally released the long awaited Jelly Bean 4.1.2 for the original first generation phablet. The Galaxy Note was a surprise success to even the executives at Samsung, and it’s popularity has probably lead to it receiving the update instead of being left with Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread or 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The international Galaxy Note with the model number: GT-N7000; will now be able update from Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 to Jelly Bean 4.1.2. The upgrade should be available to you via an OTA (Over the Air) update or Samsung KIES. The firmware is also available for download via Sam Mobile that can be sideloaded onto your phone.
It should be noted that the update is still currently rolling out, so it might not be available in your country just yet. Also if you have a carrier branded model, you may have to wait even longer for the update due to internal carrier testing, but rest assured, you should receive this update in the near future.
The new update brings many notable features to the Galaxy Note, including revamping the UI to the new Nature UX UI we find on the Galaxy S3, Mini and S2 Jelly Bean. There are other features being ported over from the Note 2 including, multi-view, which helps users to exploit the massive 5.3″ AMOLED display, Google Now and Project Butter, bringing a faster, snappier user interface.
