For those of that have been living under a rock today, HTC finally officially announced the HTC One this morning. Now HTC has officially released a new video showing off all the goodness of the HTC One. Now we’ve said for a while that HTC does have some pretty good hardware, but their software (Sense) and updates just are not there, unfortunately. The HTC One has:
- 4.7-inch 1080p display
- 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 32GB/64GB internal storage; No microSD card slot
- 2300mAh battery
- Android 4.1.2 – Jelly Bean
- Sense 5
- 4MP camera, ultrapixel camera
A lot of you are probably looking at that 4MP camera like what the heck? Most flagship phones have a 8MP camera or 13MP on the back. But with UltraPixel HTC has fewer pixels with better image quality. Which Tom outlined the whole UltraPixel thing this morning. But realistically UltraPixel is going to be the new standard in smartphones, so instead of seeing these 8MP shooters everywhere, you’ll be seeing 4-5MP UltraPixel cameras soon. In HTC Sense 5, HTC added quite a few new features including BlinkFeed, BoomSound, HTC Sense TV and more. Some of these new features have names that would make you laugh, like HTC Zoe. Where’d they get that name from?
The HTC One does look kinda ugly, compared to some of the other devices they’ve made in the past, like the One X and Droid DNA. But once you check out a few more times it starts to look nicer, of course this video really helps with that. Then there’s the whole dual stereo speakers on the front of the device. It’ll be interesting to see how well those work in a real life situation.
Check out the video below from HTC, let us know what you think about it. Is HTC’s marketing department doing their job? We know they need to really market this device, but are they doing it the right way? Put your thoughts in the comments below, we’d love to hear from you.
