One of the great new features in Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean, is Google Now. Which really puts Siri and S Voice to shame. Now that more and more phones and tablets are being upgraded to Android 4.1, let’s take a look at how you can access Google Now from anywhere in the operating system.
How to Access Google Now on a nexus
1. Turn on your phone or tablet
2. Hit the home button, hold it for a second or two, until you see the “Google” button pop up above your finger.
3. Then Slide up to the “Google” button
Or from the Lock screen (in Android 4.2)
1. Turn on your Nexus device but don’t unlock it
2. You’ll see a little dotted circle at the bottom of the device, tap that and slide up to the Google button as shown below
How to access Google Now on Samsung Devices
1. Turn on your Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2, or any other Samsung device
2. Hold the Home button down until you see the screen below.
3. Tap the Google icon in the middle
Or
1. Turn on your Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2 or any other Samsung Device
2. Hold down the menu button (this only works if you are on your home screen)
Or from the lock screen
1. Turn on your Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2 or any other Samsung device
2. Swipe up from the Google icon in the middle of the shortcuts at the bottom of the lock screen. As shown in the screenshot below
How to Access Google Now from an HTC device
1. Turn on your HTC device, and unlock it if needed
2. Hold the home button for a few seconds, until Google Now pops up.
How to Access Google Now on a Motorola Device running Android 4.1 and Above
1. Turn on your Motorola device and unlock if needed
2. Hit the home button and slide up to the “Google” button. (similar to the screen shot shown in the Nexus section of this how to.
