HTC One Coming to Rogers Canada for $149.99 With Contract

We already knew that Rogers along with a few other Canadian carriers were going to have the HTC One. But now we are beginning to get pricing for the HTC One in Canada. You can now pre-order the One from Rogers with a $40 down payment to secure the phone purchase for you. The phone is going to cost $149.99 with a 3-year contract. Yes, you read that right, three freaking years for a contract. Anyone that buys a phone on contract up North must by smoking something pretty strong to sign a 3-year contract in this day and age.

If you’re still debating whether you should pre-order the HTC One or not, those that do pre-order will be entered for a chance to win a Sharp 42-inch HDTV with HTC Media Link, thanks to Rogers and HTC. But is a chance of winning that TV and Media Link worth being tied down to a carrier for 3 years? This contest is set to end on March 22nd, which probably points to either a March 22nd or 23rd launch for the HTC One. Of course, we’ll keep you up to date with launch dates for HTC’s only flagship device of 2013.

For those that might have forgotten, here are the specs for the HTC One:

  • 4.7-inch 1080p display giving it a 468ppi
  • 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 32/64GB internal storage; No microSD card slot
  • Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS and GLONASS
  • 2,300mAh battery
  • Android 4.1.2
  • Sense 5.0
  • IR Reciever allowing you to use the HTC One as a TV remote

We haven’t heard anything for Pre-orders or launch dates in the US or Canada for any other carrier. Those carriers that we are still waiting on include Bell, TELUS, and Virgin in Canada, and Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T in the US. Hopefully we’ll hear something soon. Like we always do with Android news, we’ll be sure to keep you up to date on launch dates for this device.
