So you know how we told you earlier this week that the HTC M7 was coming in White as well as black? Well I guess this about confirms the white color, right? Well, Taiwan’s NextTV broadcasted some footage from an end-of-year party for HTC, where the CEO, Peter Chou, took the stage and thanked the M7 team for working overtime in recent weeks where he then pulled out his own White M7 and snapped a picture of the audience.
The video quality shown in the video below is rather low, so we can’t really see how the M7 looks. Although you can certainly make out the camera, LED flash and HTC logo on the back. There’s also a border along the top. It does looks rather close to the early render that appeared a few weeks back, and less like the most recent leaks of the device.

This brings us more evidence of the M7 codename, which we still believe is a codename, and we’ll have to wait until their event in a few weeks in London and New York City to see the real name. In the video, there are chants of “M7” and “HTC”. This video also shows a side of Chou, we haven’t really seen before. The side in which we are referring to are the company’s well-scripted media events, like the one at Mobile World Congress and in London/New York City in a few weeks.
As we said before, we don’t believe the final name of the device will be the M7. As company’s have codenames for codenames before they ever become the real-deal and get announced to the public. This was a private HTC gathering, so of course they were using the codename and not the actual name, if they even know what to call it yet.
You can be rest assured that we’ll be covering the event on February 19th, to see what type of Android news HTC has up its sleeve before Mobile World Congress. Perhaps they are saving the M4 and G2 which were leaked earlier today for Barcelona? Let us know what you think of all of this in the comments below.
