As we get closer and closer to Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona LG is giving us more and more details about what we should expect from the Korean OEM that has made significant waves in the mobile industry over the last year. The video below gives us a glimpse into what we will see next week in terms of new devices. More specifically we should see a device with an ‘L’ tag, which somehow stands for ‘Style.’ We should also have the announcement of devices with ‘F’ (freedom), the ‘Vu’ or ‘V’ and the ‘G’ (Greatness) tags. This short teaser obviously doesn’t give us a lot of detail, but it appears that the ‘F’ or ‘Freedom’ line will be geared towards those with an active lifestyle. This device might be durable, shatterproof, waterproof or something of that nature. The ‘G’ (Greatness) tag may well be geared towards the enterprise market. This wouldn’t be shocking considering Samsung and Microsoft’s recent forays into this space. As far as the ‘Vu’ and ‘L’ (Style) tags go, your guess is as good as ours. Perhaps the ‘L’ line will come in several different colors and will focus on portability, and the ‘Vu’ could refer to a device that contains a high quality camera. We know that Motorola is currently looking to turn some heads with the camera on the device they plan to launch at Google I/O in just a few weeks. Perhaps LG is looking to take the wind out of Motorola/Google’s sails and get an ultra high quality camera in a smart phone to market first.
This video also displays the words “You can tag what you want” near the beginning. As a huge supporter of the spread of NFC technology, we are hoping this means LG will be launching its own line of NFC tags that were announced at CES in Las Vegas last month. Of course, you can buy NFC tags that will work with any NFC enabled device right now, but if LG were to package a few tags with each device sold, we might see people begin to have fun with this emerging technology. Check out the video below and let us know what details you gleaned from this short teaser. MWC is just a few days away and we are working hard here at Android Headlines HQ to make sure we bring you every development as it happens. Stay tuned.
