Lately it seems like every other day there is another story of some big name company skipping out of this year’s Mobile World Congress which will be held later this month in Barcelona, Spain. LG on the other hand appears to want to fill that void and is really cranking up the hype machine in the days leading up to the trade show.
Just yesterday we reported on the teaser that the company had posted on their facebook page hinting at a new series of handsets possibly to be debuted at MWC. Now today we see a new leak, albeit a confusing one, for the Optimus G Pro.
The Optimus G Pro was officially announced last month with availability on NTT DoCoMo in Japan. That phone has some pretty nice specs including a quad core 1.7 Ghz S4 Pro processor, 13 MP camera, 32 GB internal storage, and a 5″ screen 1080p screen. However even at the time of that article there was some disappointment over the fact that there were some rumors out there of the Pro having a 5.5 inch screen.
Well it seems as though those rumors weren’t unfounded because today’s leak shows just that. There was a larger screened version planned the whole time and we will be seeing it at this year’s Mobile World Congress to boot.
LG won’t be waiting for the follow up to the last year’s Optimus G to take on the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy S IV and HTC’s M7. They plan on taking the fight right to their rivals with this beast of a phone. Here are the rumored specs for the second version of the Optimus G Pro:
- 5.5″ 1080×1920 Full HD IPS-LCD screen
- 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon
- LTE
- 2 GB of RAM
- 32 GB of internal memory expandable to 64 GB via microSD card
- 13 MP rear camera
- 2 MP front camera capable of 1080p video
- Slim port combining “HDMI and RGB” output
- 3,140 mAh battery
- Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
That looks like a nice piece of hardware to me and I’m loving that battery size. LG has been on sort of a roll lately and this device certainly brings the heat. What do you guys think? If available here in the US would this be your next phone?
