Today, we’re seeing many reports from owners of the Droid Razr and Droid Razr Maxx that they are getting invites to a new soak test from Motorola’s Feedback Network. Here’s what the invite says:
Thanks for joining the Motorola Feedback Network. We are inviting owners of the Droid RAZR or Droid RAZR Maxx on Verizon to participate in an early preview of a new Jelly Bean software release, and provide feedback. If you are not currently using a Droid RAZR or Droid RAZR Maxx on Verizon, please excuse and ignore this email.
You might remember back around Christmas time, Motorola/Verizon accidentally started sending out this OTA and a few Droid Razr and Razr Maxx users got updated to Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean, which was very buggy at the time. Which was kind of weird that an OTA was “accidentally” pushed out. Nonetheless, it looks like Droid Razr and Razr Maxx users will be getting Android 4.1 very soon.
Normally with soak tests, they last a few days and it’s to test the new update to be sure that there aren’t any other bugs that need to be fixed. So if everything goes smoothly during the soak test, you should get some official Jelly Beans in the next couple of weeks. So what’s in the Android 4.1 update?
- Google Now
- Project Butter
- Expandable notifications
- Performance enhancements and bug fixes
- And more….
Obviously, we don’t know what Motorola has changed in Android 4.1 yet. But everything listed above is in stock Android and every update brings bug fixes and performance enhancements right? If any of our readers are lucky enough to take part in this soak test, please leave a comment below with any other new features or bugs that have been fixed in this update.
Maybe Motorola should make a picture for Google+ “Jelly Bean coming soon!” since they’ve been actively attacking Samsung on Google+ lately. It would definitely make for some good laughs. We hope that our friends that are still rocking the Droid Razr or Droid Razr Maxx start getting some Jelly Beans in the next week or two.
