Last night in Barcelona, the Galaxy Note 8.0 was officially announced. We already know the specs, and that it can actually make phone calls….that’s one big phone. What about the camera? It does have a nice 5MP camera on the back. Well the guys over at Phone Arena were able to get some hands-on time with the Galaxy Note 8.0 and snap some shots with the device. The images look pretty good, but definitely not the best. The images in the gallery below are not the full size, but they are nice and crisp and clear.
The Note 8.0 is due to hit shelves in the second quarter of the year. It also has some nice specs, here are some of those key specs:
- 8-inch WXGA display at 1280×800 resolution
- 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos 4412 processor
- Android 4.1.2
- 5MP shooter on the back, 1.3MP on the front
- 4,600mAh battery
- 2GB of RAM
- 32GB/64GB internal storage options; Expandable via microSD card up to 64GB
For a 5MP camera, these images look pretty good. Adding in all the features that the S Pen brings to the Galaxy Note 8.0, that makes this tablet a pretty good buy. Even though we don’t have a price tag for it yet. We’re hoping to see something around the $300-350 range. Although it will sell well no matter where Sammy prices it.

What did you think of the images above? Are they good enough to come from a tablet? Although I don’t think to many of us will be using our tablet to take pictures. It usually looks pretty awkward when we are taking pictures with a tablet. But an 8-inch tablet might be less awkward than a 10-inch tablet. But it’s nice to know that it is there if we need it. I’ll still prefer to take pictures on my phone though.
How many of you are thinking of picking up the Galaxy Note 8.0 when it becomes available next quarter? Let us know in the comments below.
