The HTC One was announced today. HTC also stated that they have partnered with 185 carriers worldwide to put this device out globally. In the US we know it’s coming to AT&T and T-Mobile as well as regional carrier Cincinnati Bell. Now we see Sprint putting the HTC One on their front page, where you can pre-register for details. As all the carriers normally are with devices like this, they aren’t giving any hints as to availability. But we’re told it’ll start going on sale in March, at least in the rest of the world.
The HTC One does come with LTE, no matter what carrier variant you get. So that means that when T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint light up LTE in your neighborhood, your HTC One will work on LTE. The HTC One also features a 4.7-inch 1080p display with a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage. With a larger battery than the Droid DNA, the HTC One has a 2300mAh battery, and in theory should do better than the Droid DNA does for battery life. But we’ll have to wait and see.
Of course Sprint is touting their unlimited data plan, which they should be doing. Since only Sprint and T-Mobile have truly unlimited with no throttling or sharing. We just hope that Sprint can get their act together and get their network going a bit faster, speeds on the Sprint network are pretty bad for unlimited data. But we’re here to talk about the HTC One. Any Sprint customers out there looking to pick up the HTC One?
So far there is no pricing for the HTC One anywhere. But we’ve seen leaked a few weeks ago that the 32GB will be $199 on a 2-year contract and the 64GB at $299 for a 2-year contract. That sounds pretty reasonable, but we’ll let you know once we get official pricing from HTC and these carriers. Anyone out there have their eye on the HTC One? Let us know in the comments below.
