Swappa Partners with XDA to Become XDA's Marketplace

XDA and Swappa have some big news today. As you probably know, especially if you frequent XDA’s site, XDA shut down there marketplace months ago and have been looking for an alternative for their members to buy and sell devices. Well they have now found that alternative. That new alternative is Swappa. Many of you have probably used Swappa before, or at least heard of it.

Swappa has been around for a couple of years now and have become a trusted site to buy and sell your Android (and a few iDevices) on. Another nice touch for Swappa, is that their staff is involved in every transaction. Which is something you don’t often see at other marketplaces. They have great customer service as well which is always another plus. Swappa has also been huge in the Android community. They are constantly giving away free swag at Android events like the Big Android BBQ in the fall.

To get started, you can head over to Swappa’s website, and create your account or login if you already have an account. Hopefully they’ll add  the ability to login with Google+ soon. You can sell as many devices as you want. Each transaction costs you $10. So if you sell a Nexus 4 for $400, you’ll actually get paid $390. Which isn’t to bad at all.

There are three components of this XDA/Swappa partnership as XDA outlines below:

1. You can now sign in to Swappa with your XDA username and password
2. You are permitted to link to a device you have listed on Swappa in your XDA signature (one device at a time only)
3. Over the next few months you’ll notice some further Swappa integration on XDA. We’re still deciding exactly what that will entail

Thousands of devices are bought and sold at Swappa each year, actually it might be more than that. I’ve actually sold the majority of my devices in the past 2 years at Swappa and have never had an issue. I’ve also bought a few from Swappa with cooperative Swappa staff and sellers, it’s a great place.

Feel free to check out Swappa today!
