US Smartphone Survey: Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 More Satisfactory than iPhone 5

According to a new survey from OnDevice Research, it looks as if the Galaxy Note 2, and a few other android-based devices have bested Apple’s iPhone 5 in terms of user satisfaction. It’s pretty cool to see that the phone with the biggest complaint of it being to big, is more satisfactory than the iPhone 5. Now we said that the Galaxy Note 2 wasn’t the only device that bested the iPhone 5, others include the HTC Rezound, Motorola Droid Razr M and Motorola Atrix HD in the US, and the HTC One X bested the iPhone 5 in the UK.

So there’s proof that Android is indeed kicking iOS’ butt. Although your friends with iPhone’s aren’t going to say that or agree to that. As you can see in the image below, the iPhone had an 8.23, with the Galaxy Note 2 at 8.26, HTC’s Rezound comes in at 8.32, the Droid Razr M at 8.5 and the Motorola Atrix HD tops out at 8.57. This survey did include over 93 thousand users from the US. But the US was just one of five countries that were surveyed.

Now in the UK, it’s a bit of a different story. Only the HTC One X topped out the iPhone 5, with the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3 Mini, and Galaxy S3 close behind. The One X hit 8.47, iPhone 5 had 8.21, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 Mini at 8.18 and the Galaxy S3 rounding out the top 5 at 8.09. This data was from 54 thousand users in the United Kingdom.

It’s nice to see in the US that Motorola is leading the charge, and satisfying its customers with its new devices. It’s also nice that it isn’t just Samsung kicking Apple’s butt, but Motorola and HTC too, between the US and the UK. Did any of these numbers surprised you at all?

What device do you currently own or use as your daily driver? Did it make it in the top 5 for the United States or the United Kingdom? Let us know in the comments below.
