Everyone loves YouTube right? And you’ve subscribed to Android Headlines on YouTube as well, right? Well if you haven’t go ahead and do so then come back and see what’s new in the new update to the YouTube app. In version 4.3.9, Google has added quite a few new features. Including Google+ Profile Integration, Fullscreen button Fix, and Notification Bar TV controls.
It’s pretty cool to see Google+ getting integrated with all of Google’s apps, especially since it’s becoming a huge part of Google’s ecosystem. Not to long ago, the Play Store changed so you had to leave a review using your Google+ profile. Which is pretty nice, and would keep the nasty reviews and trolls out of the reviews for apps. I’m sure developers appreciate it. This update for YouTube also fixes that “fullscreen button bug” which I haven’t experienced, and I don’t know anyone who has. So I wonder if its only on some devices. But nonetheless it is fixed now. The Notification Bar TV Controls feature is most for when you send a video to your paired TV, you can now control the playback with a notification in the notification bar. Which sounds pretty cool, but we’ll have to check it out to see how well it works.
I’m not sure about you, but I know I spend a ton of time using the YouTube app. I use it more than I actually use the site. So it’s great to see it continuing to get improvements. Especially since it’s already a great app that loads pretty quickly, overall I haven’t had any problems with it. You can grab the app update in the Play Store now, the update shouldn’t be too big. Of course you know the Play Store does delta updates, so you don’t have to download the entire app again.
