You may remember back before Mobile World Congress that HTC said the HTC One is their only flagship phone for the year. They are also looking to continue building on the One brand. Now the Desire brand has been around since 2010, and is mostly International HTC phones. Lately, they’ve been low-end and mid-range devices. Now HTC is looking at bringing two more Desire devices to the market.
There’s the Desire P which is model number T236h and the Desire Q which is model number T328h. Currently there are no photos of the devices, there’s also no word on what kind of features we may see in these devices. But as we said above, the One is going to be HTC’s only flagship this year, so we are expecting both of these to be low-end and/or mid-range devices. That makes sense right?
Earlier this year, HTC introduced the Desire U which came with Ice Cream Sandwich. So we’re going to keep our fingers crossed that the Desire P and Q come with at least Android 4.1 or higher.
So far HTC has released about 10 different phones under the Desire brand. These phones ranged from low-end all the way to high-end. Which included the HTC Desire which popped out in 2010 and sported Android 2.1 – Eclair. Who remembers the Eclair days? As far as physical keyboards go, only one Desire-branded device has had one. That would be the Desire Z which also came out in 2010. So as you can see, the Desire brand doesn’t specifically mean high-end or low-end/budget phones. But in this case it’ll probably be budget or mid-range devices. We’ll have to wait and see when HTC announces them.
How many of our readers have owned an HTC Desire device? Not to many of us here at Android Headlines have owned one, since most of us live in the US where the Desire brand is basically non-existent. Would you buy a phone from HTC that’s not the HTC One? Let us know in the comments below.
