HTC One to Launch in Middle East in April
It might be delayed in major markets but, it looks like it’s heading to the Middle East a little after everywhere else, according to HTC Middle East: While the phone will be available in selected markets in March, it will be officially released in the Middle East in April.
Karbonn Titanium S1 and S5 Quad-Core smartphones hit India
It seems like there’s no stopping this trend of affordable quad-core smartphones in Asia. Karbonn have launched two new smartphones. The Karbonn Titanium S5 comes packing a 5-inch display a qHD Display, 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear- facing and 2MP front-facing cameras, and a 2,000 mAh battery. The Karbonn Titanium S1 has a smaller 4.5-inch display, while retaining the qHD resolution, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear-facing 0.3MP front-facing cameras, and a 1,600 mAh battery. Both smartphones come with 4GB of internal storage and room for a microSD card, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and dual-SIM support.
Acer Launch Intel-powered Liquid C1 in South East Asia
While most other smartphones still come with ARM-based chips, Intel are making inroads with their Atom line of chips using the x86 architecture. Acer has announced the availability of the Liquid C1 in Asia, a 4.3-inch smartphone powered by Intel. There’s a 1.2 Ghz Atom Z2420 clocked at 1.2 Ghz, 1GB of RAM, advanced audio processing, and an 8MP rear-facing camera with a 2,000 mAh battery. It should be released soon for around $300 US.
Galaxy Grand Gets OTA in India; Brings With it Updated Group Play Feature
The Galaxy Grand is a strange device, as a 5-incher it’s not adorned with the same specs you might see in such a device. Nevertheless, Samsung seem more than happy to keep it supported. The device has just gotten an OTA update in India that only weighs in at around 30MB but, brings with it the new Group Play feature that Samsung showed off with the Galaxy S IV. To see a mid-range device to get such treatment is really nice.
Google Flight Search Goes Live in Europe
If you’ve been wanting to search flights like certain other parts of the world and you live in one of the following countries: UK, France, Italy, Spain or the Netherlands then now you can. To get to the site just add “/flights” to the end of your Google homepage, for me it’d be google.co.uk/flights
Black Oppo Find 5 Coming Soon?
There’s no denying that Oppo’s Find 5 is a great device, packing some pretty powerful specs, coming with a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1080p Full HD touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera, 16 GB of built-in storage space, and a 2,500 mAh battery. But, what if it were to come in a second color choice? Black is often the favorite color for smartphones as it doesn’t stand out as much as a white smartphone would. Well, thanks to some leaked images, it looks like Oppo will be ready to release a black version of their killer smartphone soon.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z Launching in the UK Soon
The Xperia Tablet Z is a good-looking Android tablet from the folks at Sony, and while it might not feature the Tegra 4, it’s got the Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2GB of RAM, and a Full HD display. This doesn’t beat out the Nexus 10 but, comes close and looks damn good doing it as well. It’s going to be launching in the UK soon, starting at £399 for the 16GB version and £449 for the 32GB version.
Dual-SIM HTC E1 Up for Pre-Order in China
Dual-SIM smartphone might not be as common as they have been in the past but, that doesn’t mean they’re not popular elsewhere. HTC’s latest dual-SIM device, the E1 is up for pre-order in China for $290 US and it’t not too bad an option if you want quality without having to pay too much. There’s a 4.3-inch WVGA Super LCD Display, a dual-core Qualcomm CPU at 1.2 Ghz, 1GB of RAM with 8GB of storage – with a microSD card slot. There’s a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 2.1MP front-facing camera and it’ll be launching with Android 4.1 and Sense 4+, with an upgrade to Android 4.2 promised.
Huawei Ascend Mate Priced in China; Coming Soon
If you don’t remember the Ascend Mate, you clearly don’t know how large a device it is. At 6.1-inches the Ascend Mate is massive. With a 1280 x 720 display, a quad-core K3V2 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 8 MP camera, 4,050 mAh battery and 4GB of storage with room for up to 64GB via a MicroSD card. The device is up for sale at 2,688 Yuan, which works out at $430 US. It’s a decent smartphone if you’re looking for something bigger and it doesn’t break the bank either, take a look at Huawei’s Chinese website for more info.
Hyundai Announce T7S 7-inch Quad-Core Android Tablet for $185
Hyundai aren’t known for their electronics but, they’ve made a couple of tablets now and they’re back with the updated version of the T7. The T7S is certainly an impressive machine, with a quad-core Exynos 4412 (the same in the Galaxy Note II), 2GB of RAM, a 7-inch 1280 x 800 Display , a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera with 3,300 mAh of battery life. Unfortunately though, the software is holding it back, launching with just Android 4.0 and not even Android 4.1, let’s hope they can get an update out there quickly.
Sony Xperia E Available for £129.99 in the UK
The Xperia E has been pegged to hit in February before but, it’s now available from Clove for £130. For those not familar, it’s not the most spectacular device coming with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.5-inch HVGA display, 4GB of onboard storage, 512MB of RAM a microSD card slot and a respectable for its size, 1500mAh battery, but it does have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in there as well. Not too bad for £130, no?
