Sponsored App Review: Android Music Create and Play

As smartphones get more and more powerful, there’s more and more that we can do with them. They’ve been a great help to keep in touch with others, they’ve revolutionized social networking and gaming has gone mobile. That’s all fine and well but, what else can we do with our smartphones? Musicians know that a portable computer such as a smartphone or a tablet can be a great help, for recording, for reference, for writing and more. We’re not all musicians though, are we? That doesn’t mean we don’t want to make music or at least have fun with music. Android Music Create and Play offers a way to do just that, read on to find out more.

Description: Featuring a wide selection of sounds and samples, that are all royalty free, there’s a lot for you to experiment with in Android Music Create and Play. The whole idea is for you to have fun with music and experiment, which you can do on any screen size or orientation. You can choose to loop sounds together or mix and match to create something unique. You could use the app as a fancy metronome, or something to play a backing track to your own voice. How about creating your own ringtone? It’s all possible with Fun Music Creator.

How it Works: First off, you’re going to need to download the app from the Play Store. There’s no free version but, this small price to pay ensures no ads and you get the full experience to boot. It’s a little strange to perhaps describe how to use an app that gives you free rein to do what you want, with the tools on offer. What is good about the app is that there is really well-written documentation inside the app ready and waiting to let you know how to use the app. You can find these through “Hints 1”

As well as “Hints 2” in the main layout:

Those tips and tricks are also scrollable, there’s a lot of help on offer if you ever need it. It’s a nice touch that a lot of other apps are sorely lacking these days. When you’re mixing some tunes together, you’ll see all of your sounds laid out in the main display of the app, you can loop these or have them play just once. Looping can help you lay down a real funky beat and then find some other sounds to play over the top.

Where it says “Beats”, “Samples” or “Hits” is the type of sound you have selected, underneath is the name of the specific sound selected. To change a slot, just touch the button in the middle and choose from a category:

There are a whole lot of sounds and mixes available for you to use in your creation, just finding them all is a lot of fun. You can also change the background of the main menu to something a little more pedestrian or whatever else you want:

You can raise or lower the volume of any one of the sounds by hitting the plus or minus icons next to them. This allows for different noises, like drums for example, to be heard above everything else.

Opinion: For those that love to get a little creative every now and then, Android Music Create and Play is a great application to try out. It should be a lot of fun at parties and you could even use it instead of a karaoke machine – if you’re confident of your skills, of course. The app itself is not a bad price and it’s by no means expensive, either. using this app with external speakers is really good as well, especially with some of the crunchier basslines offered in the app.
