Within the last week or so, the HTC One has been relatively quiet, or maybe all the Galaxy S4 rumors have just taken over. But the HTC One was confirmed to be heading to Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T here in the US. We have heard of some rumors for a new Verizon device from HTC that’s code named the DLXPLUS. Now you may remember from the Droid DNA leaks that it was code named the DLX. So could this possibly be the Droid DNA+? Wouldn’t surprise us to much, they did it with the One X last year. But it would be more interesting if this was the HTC One for Verizon.
The HTC Droid DNA is the HTC 6435LVW, while this DLXPLUS is the HTC 6445LVW. So why do we think this is the HTC One? Well according to this filing, the specs match up with the HTC One, aside from the radios of course. Some previous reports have speculated that the DLXPLUS would feature a 1080p 4.7-inch display, 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Which is just about identical to the HTC One, aside from the S4 Pro inside, the HTC One has the new Snapdragon 600 instead.
So far we don’t have any other details regarding the release date for this new handset. But it’s definitely a Verizon device. So we should be expecting an announcement from either Verizon or HTC or maybe both very soon. If Verizon doesn’t announce it soon, they are going to have a pretty slow Q1 and starting Q2 off pretty bad as well. They haven’t released any phones in 2013 yet. In fact, their last phone was the Droid DNA and Galaxy Note 2. But they did just release the Galaxy Note 10.1.
How many of you would be excited to see the HTC One land on Verizon? Let us know in the comments below.
