HTC Releases New Promo Video for The One; Showing Off Blinkfeed

One of the big new features in the HTC One is Blinkfeed. Now when we first saw it during the announcement, everyone immediately began thinking “Windows 8?” Yes it does look a bit like the live tiles from Windows 8, and it’s a bit ugly – like the rest of sense. Now, the most of us here at Android Headlines thought that the HTC One would be a big flop, but after the Galaxy S4 was announced we did a Phone War between the HTC One and Galaxy S4. The HTC One won the poll by an overwhelming percentage of 91% to 9% for the Galaxy S4. Which truly shocked me. But back to Blinkfeed.

Most of us think that this is just another piece of bloat on the HTC One. Well it is. But Blinkfeed is kinda like an RSS reader for your home screen. With Google Reader getting killed in Google’s Spring Cleaning, we kinda need something like it. Blinkfeed brings in news from a number of sources along with your Facebook and Twitter accounts. The best part about Blinkfeed, Android Headlines is one of the sources. So you can’t get news straight from your favorite Android news site on your home screen of your brand new HTC One. How many of you are planning on picking up the HTC One?

Check out the Youtube video down below. This is their first attempt at marketing the HTC One, with Blinkfeed being in the spotlight. Will releasing commercials like this help out HTC in selling more phones than Samsung and other OEM’s in 2013? I certainly hope so. Most of you probably know the love I have for HTC, despite owning a Nexus for the past couple of years. I’d still love to see HTC succeed and become a top OEM once again. Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
