Motorola Confirms Customizable X-Phone for Google I/O 2013?

Who’s excited for the X Phone? Okay that might have been a dumb question. Lately, we’ve been seeing so many rumors floating around about the X Phone that it’s hard not to get excited about it. In fact, just recently Guy Kawasaki joined the new Motorola. Now if you aren’t aware of Guy, he was once the biggest Apple fanboy around. But he is now a technology fanboy and an advisor for Motorola. Guy is also really active on Google+, in fact he’s on Whats Hot almost every day.

In a post today on G+ from Guy, he asked a simple question “Wouldn’t it be great if you could personalize your phone like this?” The post includes a video of Porsche’s Exclusive program that allows you to customize your car at the time of purchase. So what if you could do that with your next smartphone Could this be a hint of whats to come at Google I/O in May?

This is quite interesting, because late last week Android and Me heard from their “sources” that Motorola was looking to allows customers to completely customize their device. It’s supposedly going to start with the X Phone that’s also supposed to be their new brand. Similar to Samsung’s Galaxy, and HTC’s One. Of course, these details haven’t been confirmed yet, but it would definitely be cool to customize the amount of RAM, internal storage, etc., for your next phone. Especially if it ran stock Android.

We also heard from some sources of Android and Me’s that the leak last week of that unidentified Motorola phone was indeed an early prototype of the X Phone. Also the divot in the back is a touch sensor that will be able to do something unique. What that is, we have no idea yet. But it looks like these rumors are not part of another hoax, which we saw originate at Android and Me last fall. As these rumors we’ve seen come from other sources as well.

So having that said, what do you all think about being able to customize your device? Good or bad? Let us know in the comments below.
