Seeing as Samsung just announced the Galaxy S4, it probably won’t be too much longer until they officially unveil the Galaxy Note III. We all know it’s coming, we just don’t exactly know when. It’s probably also a safe bet that the Note III will look a hell of a lot like the Note II, especially if the S4 is any indication.
In the past, Samsung held the Unpacked event for the Galaxy Note models around August either before or during IFA (trade show held in Berlin). That would also mean the Note II will probably drop by the end of the fiscal quarter, or at the very least the beginning of the next.
According to Koreatimes, Samsung is showing off a prototype of the Note III to ‘high level’ AT&T executives, including the American CMO. The meeting is supposedly going to happen in Seoul later this week, and will see parties discussing a specific marketing strategy for the upcoming phablet.
The prototype will not include any internal hardware though. The demo is only going to cover the commercial design of the device, or a design mock-up. It seems silly to just look at the exterior design of the phone at this point, but hey I don’t run a company, what do I know?
Confirmed specs for the Galaxy Note III include a 1080p OLED display, sized probably around 5.9-inches. As for design, well, I doubt much is going to change as I’ve already stated above. Samsung pretty much stayed with the tried and true approach as far as the Galaxy S4 is concerned, and they’re most likely going to do the same with the Note III.
That device he heard about with a 6.3-inch, the one that everyone thought was the Galaxy Note III, is still coming. It’s a different model, however, scheduled for launch sometime in the first half of 2013. It looks to be a budget device that Samsung is pushing out to compete with some of Huawei’s monstrous Ascend Mate. The yet unnamed device is going to include a much cheaper LCD, which will keep the cost down, yet it’s still going to make use of Samsung’s famed OLED technology.
