The folks over at Android Police have gotten a tip about the ZTE Quantum (N8910). This device has some high-end specs in some departments then mid-range in others. So we’re going to call it a mid-range device. Here are the specs it’ll be running:
- 5-inch 720p display with “terribad viewing angles”
- Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core clocked at 1.5GHz with the Adreno 225 GPU
- 1GB of RAM
- 1.5GB of internal storage
- 13MP rear facing camera; 0.9MP front-facing camera
- NFC, Wi-Fi bg/n dual band, LTE
- Possibly a global phone as the SIM card slot is accessible, normally Sprint hides them
- Android 4.1.2
The Quantum seems to be something between the Grand S and Grand Memo announced at CES and Mobile World Congress respectively. As Android Police noted, the rear-facing camera is oddly huge. You can see that in the pictures below. The N8910 received both Wi-Fi and DLNA certifications not to long ago. So far there’s nothing official as usual.
There are also some benchmarks in the images below, which show it scoring a 9837 on AnTuTu benchmark. Which won’t blow you away, but it’s not the worst either. Now Android Police isn’t one of those to post leaks or tips without checking them out. But we are still going to say to take this with a grain of salt. It does look pretty real and likely headed to the Now network pretty soon. We won’t know anything official until Sprint or ZTE make an announcement. Of course when they do, we’ll be sure to let you all know along with pricing and release dates.
With this coming to Sprint, the Now network is going to have a few nice looking devices, along with a few new mid-range devices. It already has the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 on its way in the next month or two for high-end devices. Then the ZTE quantum for mid-range which will probably be in the $49-99 range with a new 2-year contract.
