Not everybody is interested in playing the high-paced action games that have been flooding the Google Play Store for years now. A lot of casual gamers just what to play something that doesn’t necessarily ask too much of the player but gives a lot back in return. Object-hunters and mystery games are great for this, as they manage to drive stories forward without having to rely on fantastic graphics or high-octane action. Read on to see if Murder Detective 2 is a game for you.
Description: There’s been a murder at Lynton Church and it’s up to detectives Phil McDermott and Stephanie Rogers to solve this horrible crime. You’ll have to ask witnesses, gleam all you can and collect all the clues in order to figure out who did it! From talking to witnesses to collecting all of the clues you come across, you’ll have to have your wits about you in order to catch the killer and solve the mystery.
How it Works: To start solving the mystery, you’ll have to go ahead and download the app from the Play Store. After that, you’ll be greeted with a cut scene that sets the scene of the murder:
It’s a nice touch and really lends to the mystery of the game, it starts your mind going eager to start investigating the scene:
After that, you’ll be put into the shoes of a detective that gets woken up late at night to be called in to work:
Of course, before you can leave for the crimescreen, you have to find your car keys, and wallet and such:
Things get a little more exciting when you hit the crime scene and start investigating, and talking to witnesses:

As well as all of the object hunting and story dialogues, there are challenging puzzles you’ll come across as well:
Opinion: I’ve played a lot of these types of games and I grew up with point and click adventures on PCs of old. Murder Detective 2: Corruption is a lot of fun but, I found that there was nowhere near as much as investigating as there was collecting.

- Characters feel like something out of a book, and soon enough you’ll be wanting to find out more and more about them.
- There’s a lot of game to play through, and the more you play, the more you want to carry on.
- A perfect title for casual gamers that don’t want to deal with finicky controls and exaggerated graphics.
Cons
- A little too much collecting for a game that’s supposed to be about solving mystery.
- Those looking for an in-depth CSI affair might be disappointed.
Conclusion: For those that want to play a game that doesn’t need to rely on high-octane graphics, Murder Detective 2: Corruption is a very good option. Fans of CSI and the like will find a lot to engage with when playing through the game and while the object hunting might grow tedious for some, it’s challenging and a mechanic that you might come to love. The characters used quickly form a rappor with the player and you want to find out more about them. Overall, more crime-scene investigation and toning less object hunting would work better but, it’s a good game that’s a lot of fun and something worth checking out, definitely.
